About Me

Hi, my name is Cynthia Sisu'n (formerly Cynthia Sheard)! I recently graduated college as a Games + Simulation major and Computer Science minor at Miami University in Oxford, OH. I previously was a Computer Science major but switched halfway through my second year of college.

I love developing and programming, in awe of what we can acomplish. I strive to constantly stay up to date with the newest tech. Other interests of mine include Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, empathy games, and games as a therapy medium. I also like to read webcomics and books, listen to music, and look at art I find on DeviantArt or elsewhere. I will occasionally draw, but not super often, and it is mostly an emotional outlet for me. My favorite art aesthetic is glowy and bioluminescence. I really hope to one-day travel north and see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), since it is one of those amazing naturally occurring wonders!

In 2019 I went on a trip to Guatemala through Miami University as part of the CEC program (College of Engineering and Computing). It was a life changing expereince and I learned so much. Our goal was to survey the community and use engineering to try come up with potential solutions, using prototypes to showcase how.

We also spent time in home-stay homes and got to know the family that we stayed with for that time, being surrounded by the language and culture.

I joined Girls Who Code (GWC) when I was still in highschool and through the program I really got invested in technology and programming. It was a welcoming environemtn that encouraged curiosity and growth.

While at Miami University, I was also part of VR Club, Game Design Club, and League of Geeks. Each club offered me a sense of community and common interest in technology and gaming.

Future Goals

I hope to make software that helps people, whether through emotional comfort or making their life easier/simplier. I care alot about the user's experience with the software I create. Technology has the potential to help people in so many different ways; someone just has to be the one to see how and make it!

I would to combine my interests in technology and psychology/sociology/anthropology to create software that not only helps aid people, but can also mitigate the negative effects that have arisen from the boom of technology on us.

My goal is to become a Game Developer once I graduate from college. I absolutely love programming! I prefer game and web programming more, but I like working on other projects and in other languages too. I enjoy learning and look forward to continuing to learn in the future. I believe that you never really stop learning!
